ISRO Sponsors Two Indian Students to participate
in 59th IAC at Glasgow

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS), Govt. of India encourages talented Indian students to participate in annual International Astronautical Congress through sponsorship from 2006 onwards. This year ISRO sponsors two Students to participate in 59th International Astronautical Congress (59th IAC) to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom during September 29 to October 3, 2008. This event is organized by International Astronautical Federation (IAF), International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and International Institute of Space Law (IISL) and hosted by British Interplanetary Society (BIS). The selected students are:

  1. Mr. Shripathi Hadigal S of National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Suratkal, presenting a paper titled "Undergraduates in Main Space Stream - Building an Ultraviolet spectrograph" in the 59th IAC

  2. Mr Chetan Angadi of Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore, presenting a paper titled "STUD Sat - A Student Pico Satellite for Imaging" in the 59th IAC.

These students are selected by an Expert Committee from 12 applications from students whose paper (as first author) is accepted for presentation in the 59th IAC. The Committee technically evaluated the papers authoured by these students for quality of the content, originality, novelty and relevance to current space activities.
