Towards capacity building in human resources, DOS has established an Institute to meet the growing demands of the Indian Space Programme. The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) under Department of Space was inaugurated on September 14, 2007 with the objective of offering high quality education in space science and technology. The Institute offers Bachelors degree in Space Technology with specialization in avionics, aerospace engineering and physical sciences.
